Dungeoneer Application

  • Rules:
    • Dungeon levels must be done one at a time
    • Dungeon levels can only be done once
    • Completed levels must be spaced at least ten in game days apart before doing the next level to allot time for rest, relaxation, healing, and restocking supplies
    • Dungeon threads must be three thousand words long for a single poster. What this means is whether in a group or dungeoning singly each person involved in the dungeon thread must meet three thousand words. This can be broken up into two threads, more, or done in one go. You may also exceed this this word count
    • You may fail at one level per dungeon and still receive rewards as well as progress to the next level. For example if you would like to write your novice fighter failing miserably at level one in the dungeon for story purposes you may receive these rewards once. Any other failures will be granted no rewards but may still continue on to the next level of the dungeon. You MAY NOT fail at the Boss Level and receive the rewards.
      • A failure is considered when the thread is abandoned or when you don't meet the required amount of Enemies and Encounters. Should your partner(s) abandon your thread feel free to continue on with dungeon to its completion, note this in your grade submission that the others have given up the thread.
    • XP follows the usual graded amount unless stated in the particular dungeon's level write up.
    • In order to apply to dungeon crawl one of the areas below you must please fill out the form below and post it on this thread, after that post to the grading center as you would any other thread for XP.

Explanation

A location can be created to become a dungeon. This dungeon should be tiered with skill levels as a minimum requirement to explore the dungeon. Each level should become harder and scale with equal risk versus reward. There can be a "boss level" dungeon area with a high risk versus reward, even at varying skill levels. As well, there can be as many levels as you please in a dungeon but all dungeons should have at least three levels as a minimum requirement. These dungeons are for exploration and adventuring characters to have an outlet and a reason to go out and kill some BBEG without grasping at straws for ideas, think of them as a prompt for players to enjoy. It could be for story purposes or simply adventuring clout.

For it to be hands free from mods approval I propose a sticky for the "Dungeon Quests" where players simply post the filled out form with a link to their thread and then submit their thread for approval in the "grades" area as they would any other XP related thread to reap the rewards. The only paperwork that would need done from there is a mod would need to add the link to the appropriate dungeon level the person completed.

I also propose some of these dungeons offering things such as bonus XP, magical items, or other specialties given to attract people to use these.

The Ruins of Agalog
Recommended Level; Expert

A temple dedicated to an ancient Queen. Long since abandoned sand has begun reclaiming it. Inside you can find things like skeletons and piles of gold from unwary travelers of yore. A common theme are the animated, angry undead, passageways blocked with doors covered in strange symbols, a maze of dead ends, and dire spiders. The temple has mosaics of the tale of the Queen long gone, an eerie testament to time.  They say in legend she was a necromancer of great power who was killed in a forgotten age for her crimes against the dead and the living.
